Well Jake, looks like the world now knows you still have Taylor Swift’s scarf.

It was an emotional night at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night as Swift took to the piano, adorned in 13s to play ‘All Too Well.’

This is a song that hasn’t been released as a single but is a fan favorite. Some of the reasons for that is that it is masterfully written and it’s a song that showcases different sides of Swift that some might not have seen before. It shows her on piano instead of a guitar, it shows her vulnerability, how strong her vocals have gotten and more than anything, it makes you feel!

Yes, people that aren’t too fond of Swift’s music are turning into fans, and how can you not? “You call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest, I’m a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, cuz I remember it all too well.”

"Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it. I’d like to be my old self again, but I’m still trying to find it. After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own. Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone"

Swift’s songs may be deeply personal, but they are also extremely relatable. Most artists have lost that connection. Songs that receive high praise are all about repeating the same line and giving you a chance to jump up and down. Swift’s song make you think, make you feel, and some might not want to get in touch with their emotions, but the reason Swift is so popular is that people are looking for a way to understand their own emotions.

You can kick back and drink a beer or party all night, but your problems and emotions will still be there taunting you. It’s only when you face them that you are able to deal with them and move on. For Swift, that’s what her song writing is. It’s saying this was a hard place in my life and I’m going to deal with it, realize what happened, see the good and bad in it and move forward and learn from those experiences.

It’s not often you can bring a grown man to tears, but that’s just what Swift has done with critics across the nation. She might not have won a Grammy, but she won over a lot of hearts and minds, which will affect her career in a positive way. Well done Swift, we will remember this performance All Too Well.
